My favorite novels:

Carry Me Like Water is my favorite novel. I read it several years ago and plan to re-read it as soon as it comes in the mail. It's out of print, but you can buy it used for under $2 at amazon.com (as of 4/6). This book uses some very fun and surreal Mexican catholic imagery and new age spiritual imagery. It's about people overcoming aweful obsticles, building a life, and making their friends into their family. Most importantly, it has the best character development of any novel I've read.
